DEPRESSION MAY BE UNDERDIAGNOSED IN MEN

I love men and I am unhappy about the traditional and cultural programming some have received on emotional expression.

Statements like men don’t cry,

Men are meant to be tough,

Men don’t need to ask for help,

Men are providers,

They are expected to always lead,

Have made them emotionally bankrupt.

They suppress and mine pain,

Can’t feel their feelings,

No wonder 2/3 of worldwide suicide is by men.

They weren’t conditioned for vulnerability.

To exhale.

To evacuate.

They were conditioned to be rigid.

Rigidity leads to death.

Flexibility gives life.
