Yesterday was surreal, I was invited by Mrs. Ibukun Awosika to speak on emotional resilience at her annual Life Series Conference.
Bisi Soji-Oyawoye, my older twin and a Faculty member of @emotionscity spoke before me. She shared her daughters’ story on emotional resilience. How she spent 6 years on a college degree instead of 4 years, and how she had to write an exam thrice before she excelled at it. While at it, she also lost her best friend to suicide/depression and was beaten up by her roommate.
Then I shared my story on how my dad had a stroke at 33 years old / a couple of months before I was born and how he lived with a stroke and paralysis for 39 years.
I had to honor a man I was never connected to,
I had to love a man I never knew and I had to be emotionally, financially, and spiritually available to serve him for 38 years.
Some of these moments were the toughest in my life.
While I was struggling and hustling to raise myself, create my path, and preserve myself, I was also saddled with the responsibility to preserve what it is to be human.
My life is a story of resilience.
I earned the title of The Emotions Doctor through my tears and life story which is why I am inviting you to host EMOTIONS CITY in your world to teach your team on EMOTIONAL RESILIENCE. For paid engagements, please email solutions@emotionscity.com or +234 812 511 6740.I CRIED YESTERDAY…
