THIS POST IS NOT FOR EVERYONE

I asked a question on my wall last week about the beautiful things about our culture.

Responses include food, fashion, names and our respectful culture.

I have a reservation about the “respectful culture”.

It seems respect is tied to age in our culture.

We have been conditioned to respect adults not respect younger ones.

Or how often do we parents apologise to children when we are wrong?

How often do we speak to them kindly and respectfully?

Children are human too.

They are young adults.

They deserve to be respected.

If we raise them with tough love, bullying and disrespect. What do we think they will express when they get married?

Let’s raise children who wouldn’t need therapy to recover from our emotional impact.
